
Antigone’s two brothers kill each other fighting for the throne of Thebes. King Creon declares one a traitor and forbids his burial.
Antigone tries to bury him but is caught and condemned to die starving in a cave. At the end, she and her fiancé, Creon’s son, both kill themselves, as does Creon’s queen, Eurydice. Creon is left alone and bereft with his power.
