Ichyedana is a story of dreams — how they collide, shatter, and rise again. The play begins in present-day Kolkata, where Rishi, the protagonist, reflects on his youth and a theatre group from the 1970s that once changed his life. Through conversations with his psychotherapist, he relives the idealism, friendship, and creative rebellion of that era.
But when one of the group members, feeling unseen, betrays the group by linking it falsely with Naxalite politics, the collective dream falls apart.
As Rishi confronts the ghosts of his past, he finds hope anew — when his own son begins writing for the stage. Ichyedana is a poetic meditation on theatre, betrayal, memory, and the eternal return of dreams.
